From Monument To Masses.

In the winter of 2001, one Francis Choung was routinely perusing the dark and shady world of internet message boards.

Sudden and unexplainable curiosity drove the hapless musician to respond to an eloquent rant on Craigslist, posted by Matthew Solberg, a then recent Bay Area transplant.

Blueprints were soon drafted. The apparatus would require a third cog.

Cue sergio robledo, a former school chum of Francis' who had all but abandoned his bass guitarisms after developing an allergic reaction to punk / rock. Convinced by the new euro-asian partnership that his powers would be used for non-evil, sergio enlisted.

The three bodies, each of whom were once impossible to satisfy, have found voice and inspiration within their precarious balance of sounds.

The three now take themselves way too seriously.

Francis, the youngest of FMTM, hails from the desolation that is Bakersfield, CA. Upon successful receipt of his high school diploma, he immediately escaped his confines and integrated into UC academia.

In possession of a worthless and impractical BA, he spent obscene amounts of time behind his CPU, mostly scouring Ebay for some sort of self-worth.

Now with fresh ideas and attitude, FMTM marks Francis' conscious efforts in the positive merger of music and multimedia in an often formulaic rock arena. When not venting and inventing through percussive means, he attempts his hands at digital filmmaking.

Matt, 26, is originally from Omaha, NE. He was the guitarist/vocalist for the band Streganona, and a founding member of The eSTaTe Records Collective in Chicago, IL. He also sang and played guitar for the Chicago quartet Trophy Wives (a bandname which, incidentally, is now being used by some people in Kansas City, MO, but there is no relation). In addition to From Monument To Masses, he currently plays bass and screams in SF-based deathjazz band The Mass. Matt is one of those people who doesn't seem to know when enough is enough. He also doesn't seem to know when Enuff Z'Nuff is playing, but he wishes he did.

sergio fell to earth twenty-five years ago. Nothing is known for sure about this strange creature, but it is suspected that deep inside its shiny brown exterior are some crafty plans for People-moving.
